Celebrate Moms – Eve The Mother of all Living – Part 2

 By Jaisam Daniel
“Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:”  – Ephesians 6:2
Continued from Part 1 : Read part 1 now

2. Mothers are great helpers

  • Genesis 2:18 -“Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
  • God made mothers as helpers, HIS purpose for creation can’t be fulfilled without mothers.
  • Without Eve, the first mother, Adam would have been all alone without children or grandchildren.  Even today mothers fill our families and communities with life.
  • Mothers are great helpers. They help their husband, they help their children and they help the community.
  • Like mothers, the Bible calls God the Holy Spirit as helper and comforter John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit”

3. Moms have multi role personalities

  • If you look around and see mothers in action, you can’t miss and are amazed at their awesome multi role personalities.
  • Eve was called to different roles in the bible and played multiple roles in the first family in the garden of Eden.
  • She played a role as a female (Genesis 1:27) with dignity, she was called a helper (Genesis 2:18), a woman (Genesis 2:22, 23) and a wife (Genesis 2:24, 25; 3:8).

4. Mothers are Strong

Genesis 4:1 -“Now Adam had sexual relations with his wife, Eve, and she became pregnant. When she gave birth to Cain, she said, “With the Lord’s help, I have produced a man!”
  • God made mothers tough because they need to build the family, it seems they can take anything. Their strength comes from God.
  • Imagine how tough Eve would have been, she brought forth her first child, with out any doctor, any mid wives or any other help except Adam. Eve didn’t have any x- rays, scans, no advice from experienced women, and no google to search the answer, just pure faith and trust in God she brought forth the first child.
  • Child bearing is a painful experience. A women gives everything to become a mother. To become a father a man almost gives nothing – To raise the children of course he needs to give everything
  • I remember standing in the delivery room when my first son was born – I didn’t see my wife the same again. Yes, mothers need to be celebrated!

Celebrate Moms – Eve The Mother of all Living – Part 1

“Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:”  – Ephesians 6:2

Exodus 20:20 “Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

  • For all of us today is Mother’s Day. But for moms,  all the days are Mother’s Day.
  • A mother never ceases to be a mother. no matter how much we have all grown up.
  • Honoring mothers is the single most important thing we can do to live an abundant life!
  • “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise.
  • Children will not be blessed if they don’t honor their father and mother. Especially mothers today.
How to honor Moms?

  • Value moms as of great Price.
  • Honor moms as Precious.
  • Esteem your mother.
  • Treat moms especially dear
  • Treat moms with high respect
Celebrate Moms! Today we will look at the life of the first woman in history ”
Eve – The Mother of All Living“. Genesis 3:20 – “Then the man Adam named his wife Eve, because she would be the mother of all who live.”

  • Eve is the first woman, first mother, first wife.
  • Adam names his wife Eve – meaning – life or living – Adam’s name means red dirt.
  • What a great husband Adam was, he said I might be dirt, but my wife Eve is “Life”.
  • Adam said she will be mother of all who live.
  • Adam named her Eve, even though she was not a mother at all at that time. She was not even pregnant yet.
  • Adam acted in faith trusting God’s promise “Be fruitful and multiply”
So what can we learn from Eve – Our First Mother?

1. Moms are created in the image of God

  • God created human beings in his own image. Both male and female, both Adam and Eve –  “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female HE created them” – Genesis 1:27
  • Moms you’re created in the image of God. Moms you are not less than dad in a family, you hold a very important role in the family.
  • God views both Adam and Eve as the same and named both of them as “Adam”, only Adam named his wife Eve – Genesis 5:2, ”  Male and female created HE them”; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, on the day they were created.
  • Many times in the Bible, God refers to himself as a comforting mother – I will comfort you… as a mother comforts her child.” – Isaiah 66:13. “Like a nursing mother who will never forget her child” – Isaiah 49:15.
  • Since you are created in HIS image, God can identify with your love, emotions, pains for your children
